Mom Chats: What to Expect

So glad you're here. This page has everything you need to know before we chat, whether you're a first time podcast guest or a seasoned speaker.

Can't wait to record with you! Thanks for saying yes. :)

Overview

The Vibe: Two mom friends chatting on a stroller walk or during a playdate.

Less formal interview, more back and forth conversation. I'll be talking too, not just asking questions.

Target episode length: 15 to 20 minutes

Who This Show Is For:
Creative, ambitious toddler moms who are reclaiming their identities, dreams, and fullest selves within and beyond motherhood. Stay at home moms, working moms, entrepreneurial moms. What they have in common is that they identify as creative and ambitious, and they're unwilling to lose themselves.

Scheduling:
Click here to book a 30 minute Zoom appointment,or propose a few options and we'll figure it out together.
I'm typically most available weekdays during business hours, late mornings and early afternoons Pacific time.

How It Works:

  • You should receive a Zoom link and calendar invite once we're booked.

  • Before our Zoom date, we'll DM a little to clarify our focus.

  • Then we meet for about 30 minutes and aim to record a 15-20 minute conversation!

What I'll Need from You:

Before our call, please email me the following at hello@patriciacosulich.com:

  • Your headshot (a good, clear photo of your face works, even if it's not professional)

  • A one paragraph bio written in third person

  • Your links (website, social media, freebie, or how listeners can contact you)

  • Your phone number (just in case we have tech issues)

As you're preparing for our conversation, reflect on these two things:

  • Your core message: What's the one thing you want listeners to walk away with? What do you want them to think, feel, or remember?

  • Your call to action: Where would you like to invite listeners at the end? A link, a community, a resource, somewhere to connect with you?

What to Talk About:
If we haven't already landed on a topic, please review the following "idea joggers" and let me know what comes up for you:

Big picture conversation starters:

  • How do you make time for yourself right now, and how has that evolved?

  • What does ambition look like for you in this season of motherhood?

  • How has becoming a mom changed what you want and what you're building?

  • What did you have to let go of, and what did you fight to keep?

  • What is something you figured out about yourself after having kids that surprised you?

  • What does your support system actually look like, and how did you build it?

  • What advice would you give your younger self or newer moms?

More specific:

  • A strategy or system you use that other moms probably haven't heard of

  • The logistics of your weekly schedule and where your time actually comes from

  • What you outsource, what you protect, and what you've made peace with not doing

  • A season where it completely fell apart and how you got back on track

  • A goal you're working toward right now and how you're breaking it down

  • What "good enough" looks like for you on a hard day

  • How your relationship with your partner has shifted around roles, ambition, and support

  • What you'd tell yourself in the hardest season you've been through

Types of conversations:

  • A personal story or experience

  • Two or three practical tips or systems around a topic

  • Subject matter expert angle if you have a specific area of expertise

  • A reflective or big picture conversation about life and motherhood

Tech Setup:

  • Zoom: You'll get a link. No special setup needed.

  • Microphone: Not required, but helpful if you have one. Built in mic is totally fine.

  • Headphones: No headphones is often better than the wrong ones, in my opinion. No strong rules, but wired iPhone earbuds tend to brush against hair and earrings and create noise on the recording. Wireless can create a lag. I don't personally wear headphones at this time.

  • Background noise: Zoom filters out a lot. Don't stress about it.

A Few Other Things to Know:

  • Video: No need to be "camera ready" and fancy. I don't currently publish video, but that may change soon. Let me know if you have a strong preference not to be on video just in case.

  • Your kids' details: I don't share my son's name or personal details about him on the podcast, and I won't expect you to share your kids' names either. Knowing roughly what stage of motherhood you're in (toddlers, school age, teens, etc.) is helpful context, but share only what you're comfortable with.

  • Privacy: If there are topics or details you'd like me to avoid, just let me know before we record. I take privacy and child safety decisions seriously. You can also pause me in the middle of an episode if something comes up.

  • Interruptions: There is a very good chance my toddler will wander in and say hi. If your kids are around too, that's completely fine. I'd rather have a real conversation with a few interruptions than wait until everything is perfect.
